Rinkers Boat World—Houston’s Service Department is looking for an experienced Marine Technician to join the team! We are a fast-growing, customer-focused boat dealership looking for a motivated, experienced technician skilled in servicing and repairing a wide range of boats—from everyday outboard-powered models to premium, high-end luxury boats equipped with inboard and I/O engines.

JOB SUMMARY: The Marine Technician will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems on marine vessels. This position requires a strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, committed to exceptional workmanship, safety-conscious and dedicated to providing high-quality service to customers.
Marine Technician with hands-on experience servicing Yamaha Outboards, Volvo Penta systems, and MerCruiser engines—or similar. Proven ability to provide accurate diagnostics, quality repairs and dependable customer support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Diagnose, repair and maintain outboard, inboard and sterndrive engines
* Perform electrical, mechanical and rigging work with precision and safety
* Conduct routine services, seasonal maintenance and performance upgrades
* Troubleshoot complex systems and explain findings clearly to service advisors
* Maintain clean work areas, accurate repair documentation and strong customer trust
* Assist with on-water testing
* Inspection and Diagnostics: Inspect and test marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems and other mechanical and electronic equipment to identify issues and malfunctions. Use diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint the root cause of problems.
* Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks and tune-ups. Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, generators, pumps, wiring, hydraulic systems and steering mechanisms.
* System Installations and Upgrades: Install new equipment, including navigation systems (GPS, radar), communication devices and entertainment systems. Upgrade existing systems to improve performance and efficiency.
* Troubleshooting: Analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions, often under pressure.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed, including inspections, repairs, and parts used.
* Communication: Communicate effectively with Service Managers to explain technical issues, provide recommendations and answer questions. Being comfortable loading pictures and videos from phone into computer software.
* Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including those from OSHA, and ensure all work is completed to industry standards.
* Skills: Adapt and learn latest technologies.

Service Advisor / Service Writer: Lake Conroe Location

Rinkers Boat World—Lake Conroe’s Service Department is looking for a Service Advisor, Service Writer to join the team!
Do you enjoy working with people as much as you enjoy boats? We are looking for a friendly, organized and mechanically minded Service Advisor to join our growing team in Conroe.
As the first point of contact for our service customers, you will play a key role in creating an outstanding customer experience from check-in through delivery. If you are detail-oriented, comfortable with computers and enjoy solving problems, we would love to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and check boats into our service department.
- Photograph boats and enter customer and boat information into our computer system.
- Write detailed repair orders based on customer concerns, both in person and over the phone.
- Keep customers informed throughout the service process with timely updates.
- Review completed repairs with customers and walk them through their boat when service is complete.
- Assist with manufacturer warranty claims and documentation.
- Help maintain parts inventory and coordinate with the parts and service departments.
- Work closely with technicians to ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with every interaction.
Qualifications
- Mechanically minded with the ability to understand basic boat systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:
The Dock Hand plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations at the dealership with our boat inventory. This position is responsible for assisting with the docking, launching, and retrieving of boats, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dock/boat storage area and supporting the service and sales teams as needed.
* Please NOTE if you have experience pulling a trailer or boat. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Job highlights—
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· The Dockhand is responsible for assisting the dealership team and assigned duties to general operation of the dealership, docks and assisting boaters.
· Detailing boats.
· Aid customers with general boating needs.
· Maintain and clean dealership, docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by management.
· Covering and un-covering boats.
· Assisting in the launching of customer and service boats.
QUALIFICATIONS:

· Perform other duties, assignments and responsibilities by GM
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Previous detailing experience preferred but not required.
· Ability to operate cleaning equipment & tools safely, effectively.
· Ability to work as part of a team.
· Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Ability & agility to safely climb ladders and board boats multiple times a day.
