Does trading in reduce my sales tax in Texas?
Yes. In Texas, when you trade a boat in toward another purchase you generally pay sales tax only on the price difference, not the full price of the new boat — which can add meaningful savings on top of your trade value.
What should I bring to the dealership to confirm my trade value?
Your title (or payoff information if the boat is financed), registration, and any service records you have. Maintenance history and records help us confirm the strongest possible value.
Do I have to buy a boat to get my boat valued?
No. The online estimate is free with no obligation, and if you are not trading up we can talk about buying your boat outright or listing it through brokerage.
What is the difference between selling outright and brokerage?
